Humber College B Building
BBA completed the development of the three-storey building for Humber College in 2009. Development of new building utilizing “Tilt Wall” construction technology in combination with precast concrete floor slabs to reduce structural costs, eliminate long delivery delays and to improve building envelope performance.
Tilt up concrete wall system panels act as both building structure, and 'thermal mass' building envelope. Open cells of precast concrete floor structures concealed building services and ductwork for 'thermal mass' heating and cooling system. Creative uses of texture and colour were used to minimize the visual impact of a large concrete building.
