The recent expansion of the Caledon East Community Complex, spanning 52,000 square feet, exemplifies a strong commitment to sustainability. Cutting-edge solutions such as LED lighting not only enhance illumination but also result in an impressive annual savings of 186,000 kWh. Through the utilization of electric motors and VFD controllers, a reduction of 3.36 tons of CO2 emissions is achieved each year.
The innovative repurposing of wasted heat from the ice plant to warm the pool contributes to preserving 32 acres of forest annually. Additionally, the repurposed heat is used for in-floor heating in the library and lobby the equivalent of diverting 730 trash bags from landfills on a yearly basis.
